Xave is a browser extension that lets you download videos, GIFs, and images from posts on X (formerly Twitter) to your own device. It does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Data we collect
None. Xave has no servers, no analytics, and no third-party trackers. It never sends any information anywhere.
Data stored on your device
The only data Xave stores is your quality preference (preferred video and image resolution). It is saved locally in your browser via the standard extension storage API. It is never uploaded or shared, and you can clear it at any time by removing the extension.
Permissions, and why each is needed
- downloads — to save the media file you choose to your device.
- storage — to remember your quality preference locally.
- host access (x.com, twitter.com, twimg.com) — to detect media on X and download the media files. The extension runs only on X and on no other site.
Remote code
Xave does not load or execute any remote code. All of its code is bundled inside the extension package.
